The first branch, Cape Coast started in operation.



Major capitalization boost began during the year 2007.  Microfinance activities were extended to cover the Districts of the Central and part of Western Regions.


The BOD of ASA Initiative was reorganized to include experts.

April 2009

September 2009

BeBi, European Union project   for African Caribbean and Pacific countries with the University of Udine as a Lead Project Partner, aimed at improving indoor and outdoor air quality, development of SME’s for job creation and poverty alleviation, improving health of women and children and increasing agricultural productivity.

January 2010

ASA Initiative, represented by Mrs. Veronica Agodoa Kitti attended BeBi Kick off Meeting in Udine, Italy.  BeBi  is Agricualtural and Environmental Benefits from Biorchar use in ACP countries, a European Union project. (htt://bebiproject.uniud.it)

March 2010

ASA Initiative, one of the two institutions selected under Association of Financial NGOs (ASSFIN)  by the Ministry of Finance (Ghana) to participate in the Sustainable Micro Enterprises Development Programme (SMDP) by  the University of New Hampshire.

July 2010
